Design and Looks
If you thought the LG KP199 Dynamite was a Nokia phone, you aren't the only one. Although LG were never one to copy the style of other manufacturers, we guess they took some liberties with this phone. Nevertheless, the KP199 may be the only one basic LG phone that actually looks like a basic phone. The implications of such a basic design are that it is robust and simple looking. It also does not look cheap or gaudy and you will never tire of looking at the phone even though it was never awe inspiring to begin with.
LG claims the 1.77-inch screen is capable of 262K colours over QQVGA resolution. In all actuality, this is not possible and we're sure the screen does not produce more than 65K colours. The screen is just like the ones on the other Bullet and Dynamite phones and it's nothing special but it does the job. The phones also sports a very comfy controls cluster including a very tactile D-pad and alphanumeric keys. The touch-orientation of these buttons is great and the keys respond with satisfying clicks. This phone is recommended to those users who text frequently.
The LGKP199 Dynamite has some features including VGA camera plus video recording, mp3 player and FM radio with recording. Connectivity options include USB (but it's the out-dated and slow 1.1), Bluetooth with A2DP support and GPRS. For this price, it's unfair that LG does not provide us with a memory card but since A2DP is also rare among these phones, we guess that evens things out. However, these things mean differently to different people so finally, this phone may not be the ideal handset for everybody.
