Design and Looks
The new horde of LG Bullet and Dynamite phones for the most part look outdated. Thankfully there are the few gems like this one- the KP115 Bullet which look both unique and high-end. While at the bare bones, it's just another rectangular LG handset. A nifty overlay of quaint controls and accents make sure that this handset does not go unnoticed. Starting with the sides, the phone sports a red or blue accent that adorns the black handset. At the top and bottom the phone is wedge-shaped like a Motorazr phone. The front is the most interesting side of the phone and consists of three distinct and separate spaces, one each for the display, the D-pad controls and the alphanumeric keypad.
The display is nothing to write about except that it's the same crummy low quality one we're used to seeing on most Bullet and Dynamite phones. Below the screen is one of the most unique D-pad clusters we have ever seen. The nav-pad is split into four direction keys that also double as the keys to control music playback. At the middle is the confirming centre. And of course around this we see the soft and call and end keys. The layout follows a checkerboard scheme. The alphanumeric keypad too follows a similar checkerboard design to differentiate each key but the keys are almost flat and hard to press. This is the last phone we would recommend an SMS junkie to consider. This statement sums up what we think of the keypad.
The phone's UI is simple. But like most UIs on LG phones, it can at times be slow or even hang. Chances of this happening are rare but it's entirely possible. The UI also has support in two languages; Hindi and English. The phone sports all the basic Java apps in addition to an mp3 player and FM radio. Sound quality for the media apps is good and music can also be played through the speakerphone although it sounds better coming out the earphones. The phone is also features the Anti-theft Mobile Tracker feature. This is a feature common among all low-end LG phones. For once, we can say that this phone actually deserves it.
Priced like some other phones in the Bullet and Dynamite series, the KP115 Bullet is even better looking than most of its peers. It's unfortunate that this phone incorporates such a lousy keypad otherwise it would be one of the bestsellers.
