Design and Looks
The LG GW300 is features the full QWERTY keyboard on its front side on the wide handset. The keyboard gives a good feel and comfortable touch when typing long messages and is a treat to type with its interface featuring the face book and the social-networking websites. The wide handset thus gives the manufacturer a nice space to put up the 2.4 inch display with landscape orientation. The resolution of the screen stands at 320x240 pixels and is able to deliver 256K colors.
The phone with its looks is thin and stylish and features the microSD card slot on one of its sides. The top side hosts the standard microUSB port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the interface side the phone comes along with Face book which is pre-installed on the LG GW300. The interface is mainly java and is easy and simple to use.
The phone has an average music player and sports a nice bass and has a good frequency response. With regards to the in-call quality is impressive but on the other end the quality fails miserably. The internal memory capacity of the phone is up to 10 MB and the phone supports expandable memory which is upgradable to 4 Gigabytes.
The other feature on the handset includes the triband GSM connectivity, Bluetooth and FM Radio tuner. There's no 3G or WiFi nor GPS on board the handset.
The highlight of the phone is its pre-installed applications and widgets that support instant connectivity on Face book and twitter.
Overall the phone does not feature any great functions but is an excellent device for consumers who would prefer a lot of texting and access to the social-networking websites. The phone stands out to be an affordable cell with a QWERTY keyboard. There are other alternatives in the market with the likes of Samsung Corby and the CorbyPro which are equipped with touch screen functionality and provide a definite challenge to LG.
