Design and Looks
The LG GB270 Dynamite is a phone that looks different in its avatars. The two versions of the phone- pink and black might just as well be two different models altogether and god knows we've seen LG pass off similar looking phones with slightly different features set as different models. I guess the differentiation is based not on looks but on the phone's features alone. Either way, the pink and black version of this phone incorporate thin keys that are very hard to press and are every SMS addict's nightmare. The D-pad on the black version of the phone features four pencil thin metal strips for the directional aspect of the keys and a confirming centre in the middle. The sides of this bar phone have dedicated music and camera launch keys. The phone certainly looks more than its price, that is, until you turn it on.
The phone incorporates a 2.0 screen that sports a meager QQVGA resolution. Image quality is poor and grainy. But let's look beyond this screen and see what else is on offer – the user interface sports two different modes, or rather, themes- Business and Casual. The phone is also a media capable machine- as the dedicated camera and music launch keys will attest. The camera is a basic VGA unit with several image editing options. It is also capable of recording video in QCIF resolution.
It's possible to find many phones that are far more functional than the GB270 Dynamite at the price it's selling at. The GB270 is a good exercise at unique design. Too bad it's nothing more.
