LG GB106

The LG GB106 prides itself of being one of the few basic FM radio phones with an internal antenna. Apart from this, it also features the Anti-theft Radio Tracker which is ubiquitous to all low range LG phones. It is also a technology we are yet to see on the phones of other manufacturers. Design and Looks
The LG GB106 features traditional LG basic phone looks; the phone is contoured at the top and bottom. The main feature of the phone is 1.5-inch screen that's standard on all LG basic phones. The unique design elements of the phone are a new innovative navigation pad and keypad. The rim of the nav-pad is nice and fat with a false confirming centre in the middle. The entire D-pad controls are made out of rubber and are some of the most comfortable to use. The alphanumeric keypad features individual keys where each row of keys droops at the middle. What this means is that the phone's keypad offers great tactility and finger-feedback. This is an excellent design-layout and will lend to a rich texting experience.

The phone's UI is the basic UI that's common to all LG basic handsets. It is simple yet intuitive and features all the common Java applications including personal information management functions such as memo, calendar and unit convertor, world time, calculator, stop watch and alarm. The phone's most outstanding entertainment feature is the built-in FM radio which also packs in an internal antenna which means that users can listen to their favorite shows through the loudspeaker, without having to plug in the mic. But the phone also ships in with a stereo ear microphone so users also have the option to listen to the radio through it.

Like most LG basic phones, the GB106 features the Anti-theft radio tracker feature. With this feature, it is possible to procure the details of the person who steals the phone (by noting the new SIM number) and the triangulated location at which the change in SIM was made. The information may be used by the user to file a police complaint.

The LG GB106 is not very different from the many LG basic phones but it has a refreshing design and option for 'wireless' radio which should be interesting to many FM radio lovers.
